Making Tracks with Tyler

Tyler is 8 years old and is already giving back to the community. When Share-A-Pet volunteer Joan Partyka and her therapy dog Bernie first met Tyler, he was sad, withdrawn and sick. In a matter of a few visits, Bernie had worked his magic on Tyler and helped him heal and regain his usual zest for life. Tyler has been so moved by Joan sharing the love of her dog with him, that he resolved to do the same when he got out of the hospital. Tyler is well now and living at home. He is also Share-A-Pets youngest member. His dog Coco Puff is undergoing training to be a therapy dog. In the meantime, Tyler accompanied by his doting Mom, goes along on pet-assisted therapy visits by other Share-A-Pet volunteers. Anyone who comes in contact with this young boy, is amazed at his sweetness and his wisdom in knowing that the truth to life is to give back..
On Oct. 11, 2008, Share-A-Pet is honoring Tyler at the McCormick & Schmicks' Seafood Restaurant located at 1400 Glades Road Boca Raton, FL. We request your presence at this fun event, to be held at the outdoor patio from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Come meet Tyler and his family. Come meet other Share-A-Pet volunteers who are actively giving back to those less fortunate, right here in your community. This is also a fundraising event and all proceeds will benefit the Share-A-Pet organization providing pet-assisted therapy to patients in hospitals, nursing homes and children's centers. Tickets are only $25 per person. Doggies and their owners are all welcome to this event. The restaurant will serve free drinks and free finger foods. If you've never eaten here before, you've got to come and try their delicacies!.
Also available are opportunities to win great raffle prizes.
If you would like to purchase your ticket before Oct. 11, you may do so at Share-A-Pet
Share-A-Pet began in December 2003 when Founder Sachin Mayi and his yellow Labrador Tenzin set out on a mission to find people who were suffering in the world and serve them. After the miraculous responses Tenzin was able to elicit from severely disabled children who were not responding to other therapies, Mr. Mayi decided to contact more facilities. As the benefits of pet-assisted therapy were reinforced, Mr. Mayi incorporated Share-A-Pet as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation to reach as many people as possible in need of unconditional love and kindness. We began recruiting volunteers in April 2005, and have recently passed the 500 mark. We invite you to join us as volunteers, patrons and supporters, or as celebrators. We look forward to meeting you..
