Enjoyed family activities with a Norman Rockwell flare. Croquet, lawn bowling, bicycle helmets, radio appearances, and more. Special musical guests were 7 year old Violinist – Brianna Kahane and 8 year old Vocalist – Julia Dale.

Hosted by the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE
The Ball was the most elegant festivities and by far the highlight of Fort Lauderdale’s 2009 social season. Guests enjoyed the JM Lexus Welcome Reception and bid on packages in the Fidelity Investments Silent Auction. The Auction featured over 250 items. A live auction took place inside the ballroom with items such as a 2010 JM Lexus IS 250, Dolphins Skybox, Wine Estate Vacation, a shopping spree from Carroll’s Jewelers and so much more. The silent auction was filled with opportunities to bid on items such as weekend vacations, dinner at a favorite restaurant, sports memorabilia, fine art, collectibles and other unique items. Wines, champagne and spirits were enjoyed.

Captain’s Meeting
Hosted by Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, this mandatory meeting was for all Boat Parade participants to receive line-up information, rules and regulations for the parade. West Marine Goodie bags featured Star Brite products and other great items. CAPTAINS ONLY event.

Shoreline Decorating Extravaganza presented by Universal Property and Casualty Insurance Co.
This event encouraged the shoreline community to show their holiday spirit while creating a beautiful backdrop for the Boat Parade aboard the M/Y Grand Floridian, while viewing all the beautifully decorated homes & businesses along the New River in Downtown Fort Lauderdale to the Intracoastal Waterway ending at Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach along the Parade Route.

Grand Marshal Reception presented by Edify
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino This Winterfest Celebration welcomed our 2009 Grand Marshals (YES - THERE WERE TWO!), honorary Captain Amanda Blake, dignitaries and celebrities all joined us to celebrate. Winterfest style. The fabulous invitation-only reception was the prelude to the parade. Many local VIP’s, dignitaries, sponsors welcomed the 2009 celebrity Grand Marshal. Fort Lauderdale’s Mayor, Jack Seiler gave the Grand Marshal a key to our beautiful city and Riverwalk, Inc. presented a brick in his/her name(s) for the Riverwalk Celebrity Walk of Fame on the banks of the staging area of the Parade.

Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade
From the New River in Fort Lauderdale and traveling to the Intracoastal north to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach
The 38th Annual Boat Parade started on the New River and traveled East to the Intracoastal Waterway continuing North to Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach. The '09 theme, “That’s Entertainment” embraced the beauty of our waterways with the music and excitement of every era. From the vast numbers of private boats to the giant showboats and corporate megayachts, the 100 parade entrants adorned with hundreds of thousands of lights, music, entertainment, decorations, celebrities, musical groups, beauty queens and many other exciting entries viewed by over one million spectators.

Smart for Life™/underWAY™ Grand Marshal Showboat, Patron “Red Carpet” Showboat, WSVN “Animation Domination” Showboat, Seminole Tribe “Comicbook Heroes” Extravaganza, Paul and Young Ron aboard Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza Showboat, the Advanced Green Technologies Santa Showboat, The Clydey Foundation “Cirque” Floating Finale, Phantom of the Opera and so much more along the 12 mile parade route- this year is not to be missed!

Grandstand Seating at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park
The Culinary Courtyard presented by Michelob Ultra featuring Seafood World and Coca-Cola products. Mobile Mike Stage and Big105.9 FM Morning Show Personalities were on hand with live parade commentary. The Seminole Tribe of Florida hosted an area withIndian arts, crafts, birds of prey and authentic Indian dancing. The Florida Panthers’ Slap Shot Game, Florida Marlins Prize Wheel, Mermaids, Baseball Throw, climb the Rock Wall, Bounce House, Sun-Sentinel’s Kids’ Town and much more! Guests enjoyed special appearances by Stanley C. Panther, Billy the Marlin and Santa!
