YAFFA & ASSOCIATES EXPANDS MARITAL AND FAMILY LAW PRACTICE

YAFFA & ASSOCIATES
EXPANDS MARITAL AND FAMILY LAW PRACTICE

Boca Raton Firm
Adds Two Attorneys, Law Clerk to Legal Team

Doreen Yaffa, managing partner, Yaffa & Associates, announced that attorneys Heather Pattok and Ashley Bolender and law clerk Cynthia Pyfrom have joined the Boca Raton law firm.

“We are significantly expanding our professional team in response to increased demand from our clients in both Palm Beach and Broward counties,” said Yaffa, who is board certified in marital and family law. Yaffa & Associates, concentrates on complex and sophisticated family law matters.

A resident of Fort Lauderdale, Pattok, 27, practices family law, with experience in litigating guardianship matters as well as post-dissolution enforcement and contempt proceedings. “Too often, children are caught up in divorce proceedings,” she said. “They need to be protected as much as possible.

Pattok was previously an associate at The Rakusin Law Firm, where her practice included trust and probate litigation as well as family law.  She is a 2007 graduate of the Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center and earned her undergraduate degree from Hofstra University. “I wanted to become an attorney at an early age, and have always had an interest in family law,” added Pattok.

Bolender, 26, practices family law, with an emphasis on matters relating to the elderly. “Because my brother is autistic and my grandmother had Alzheimer’s disease, I understand the importance to protecting the legal rights of everyone,” she said. “I want to be a voice for people who otherwise would not be heard in the courts.”

Bolender earned her law degree from Barry University in 2009, after gaining a bachelor’s degree from University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  While in law school, she worked in a children’s and family clinic, assisting clients with special needs and other dependency issues.

Law clerk Pyfrom, 32, has more than 12 years of experience, including five years in family law, where she has assisted in drafting motions and agreements.  Last fall, she began law school at Nova Southeastern University. “I look forward to the opportunity to become an attorney in the field of family law,” she said, “because virtually every matter involves a mixture of counseling, negotiating and litigating.” A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Pyfrom is a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
