Episode 2 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives starts off with Guy Fieri Santa Barbara, CA and then goes across the country to Boynton Beach, FL and then lands at Cheffrey Eats located at Barrel of Monks brewery in our very own Boca Raton, FL. This is very special for us because Jeffrey Lemmerman has participated and won the Boca Burger Battle 2019 People's Choice Award for "Best Battle Burger" and in 2018 Jeffrey Lemmerman took home 3rd Place Judge's Pick for "Best Grill Master". A big congratulations goes to Jeffrey. He's now up there with Chef George Patti from MEAT Eatery and Taproom in Boca Raton who has also won multiple winning awards competing at the Boca Burger Battle and was featured in Season 24, Episode 8 at his Islamorada, FL location.
BocaRaton.com / BocaBurgerBattle.com will be at Barrel of Monks in Boca Raton on Friday night March 17th at 9 PM for the live viewing party. Cheffrey Eats is the resident culinary chef at this local South Florida brewery. They are located at 1141 S Rogers Cir #5, Boca Raton, FL 33487
Puerto Rican restaurant La Cosinita Latina in West Palm Beach (March 24)
Greek and Mediterranean restaurant Hellenic Republic in Coral Springs (March 24)
Guy Fieri's series is beloved by foodies around the world. He's pit-stopped throughout the entire United States now going on almost two decades — and it looks like Guy is loving the Sunshine State since he's recently took up residence in Lake Worth Beach in 2022 with his new home purchase in Florida. He has even participated the past two years at the annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami Beach with a live version of “Diners”. We also have to mention Guy featured chef Eric Baker from Rebel House in Boca Raton in Season 36, Episode 12 last year. Rebel House took home 1st Place Judge's Pick for "Best Grill Master" and People's Choice for "Best Battle Burger" at Boca Burger Battle's Inaugural event.
Jeffrey says Guy sampled two of his Cheffrey Eats creations: The Barnyard Burger, a tenderized, butterflied and battered chicken breast atop an Angus chuck blend burger, plus candied bacon and cheddar on a Cusano’s kaiser roll and his Brownie-batter Cheesecake that he servers in a mason jar. Jeffrey is staying quiet about what happened during the taping so were all going to have to watch it Friday night at 9 PM.
Hellenic Republic, which opened in 2019 under head chef and longtime Coral Springs resident Nikol Zarbalas, will also host a watch party for their March 24 episode premiere.
This Greek-Mediterranean restaurant serves scratch-made Greek meze, such as panko-breaded halloumi fries served with housemade dipping sauces, as well as spanakopita and herb-and-spice-filled meatballs that are called "beeftekia". They also serve street food-style items like braised lamb pitas that are topped with pickled red onions and for the meatier entree lovers you can get lamb chops, fried chicken and waffles. Another local celebrity chef favorite in South Florida that accompanied Guy was James Beard-winning chef Michelle Bernstein!
BocaRaton.com is happy to see so many South Florida chefs featured on the Food Network. There's so much local talent to tap-into here! And, it's great for the local foodie-scene and visitors to our area. We're looking foward to watching this season of "Diners - #DDD".
