Jean-Philippe Heitz and Eddie Edwards has opened S!R Menswear (pronounced “sir”) at Downtown at the Gardens, the hottest new shopping mecca in Palm Beach County, located midway between the exclusive addresses of Palm Beach and Jupiter Island.
Heitz, an architect and interior designer, is bringing his deeply honed aesthetic – developed whilst designing trendy restaurants, luxury spas and contemporary five-star hotels in China, Australia and the Middle East -- to the store’s interiors, promising a space so unique it will become the talk of the town.
“It will be more of a living environment than your traditional retail store,” says Heitz. “We’ll combine unique displays of our clothing with contemporary, inviting residential furniture, high-quality lighting, French artwork (of course!) and sexy music to create an overall ambiance that we hope will bring sophisticated shoppers back again and again.”
The shirts offered at S!R have never before been available in the United States. Produced in Paris, they were only found in select European resort destinations like St. Tropez and Cannes. The exquisite fabrics and attention to precise shaping of the shirts result in highly crafted – yet surprisingly affordable – luxury.
“These are clothes for the man who appreciates the finer things in life,” says Edwards, a native of West Palm Beach who has lived in Europe and traveled the world during his professional retail career. “These shirts, with their attention to tailoring detail, fashionable button layouts and shapes, unique collar and French cuff shirt designs, and long-wearing high-quality fabrics, will be limited in their production and availability. Our customer is a man who takes style seriously, but has a playful sense of what’s wearable and confidence in his own choices.”
With plans to eventually expand their offerings to include high-end accessories, Heitz and Edwards are the kind of confident, brash, yet down-to-Earth men who want to wear shirts that make an impression, yet are priced within reach. SIR’s shirts will range from $95 to $145, making them a fantastically decadent good buy.
