Location, parking, and contact information for Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park
South County Regional Park — officially named Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park — is one of Palm Beach County's largest and most versatile public parks, spanning nearly 900 acres in the western Boca Raton area along Glades Road. The park was renamed in honor of longtime Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson, though it remains widely known and searched under its original name. Whether you're looking for active recreation, nature exploration, or a venue for major outdoor festivals, South County Regional Park delivers on all fronts.
The park serves as one of South Florida's premier outdoor event venues, with expansive open fields and infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale festivals and community gatherings. The South Florida Watermelon Festival made its home here in 2025 and returned in 2026, drawing thousands of families from across Palm Beach and Broward counties for three days of carnival rides, live entertainment, watermelon-themed food, and family activities. The park's west Boca location and abundant free parking make it an ideal setting for large outdoor events.
Beyond festivals, South County Regional Park offers an impressive range of year-round amenities. Coconut Cove Waterpark features a lazy river, water slides, and a kiddie splash zone. Daggerwing Nature Center provides nature trails, a lookout tower, and environmental education programs. Canine Cove is one of South Florida's most popular dog parks, with separate areas for large and small dogs. Osprey Point Golf Course offers 27 holes of play on a beautifully maintained layout, and the park's extensive sports facilities include lighted baseball and softball fields, tennis courts, racquetball courts, and multipurpose athletic fields used by youth and adult leagues throughout the year.
Located at 11200 Park Access Road just off Glades Road near the Florida Turnpike interchange, South County Regional Park is easily accessible from western Boca Raton, West Boca, Boca del Mar, Boca Lago, and surrounding communities in the unincorporated western Palm Beach County area. The park is open daily from sunrise to sunset, with most facilities offering free general admission. BocaRaton.com is proud to provide event coverage for major festivals and community events held at this exceptional South Florida destination.
