About the South Florida Watermelon Festival
The South Florida Watermelon Festival returns to South County Regional Park in Boca Raton for its second annual run, April 10–12, 2026. This three-day outdoor family festival packs the sprawling grounds of west Boca Raton's biggest park with carnival rides, live entertainment, watermelon-themed food and drinks, local vendors, and some genuinely memorable moments — including a live pig show and a watermelon eating contest that tends to draw a crowd. With free parking, children 2 and under admitted free, and a Friday discount day, the Watermelon Festival is one of the most family-friendly and accessible events on the spring South Florida calendar.
The festival features 15+ rides and inflatables for all ages — from a classic carousel and bumper boats to obstacle courses and bounce houses. General admission covers full access to the festival grounds, live entertainment, the pig show, and the eating contest. For families wanting an all-in experience, the unlimited rides wristband is the way to go, granting all-day access to every ride and inflatable on site. Friday is the best value day, with general admission at $12 online (code WATERMELON26) and the full ride wristband at just $27 — making it a smart choice for locals who want the full experience at a lower price point.
Food is central to the Watermelon Festival experience. Expect watermelon-inspired treats — think watermelon slushies, watermelon-flavored desserts, and fresh-cut watermelon by the slice — alongside a full range of food vendor options covering festival favorites. Outside food and beverages are not permitted (except for dietary or religious needs), so plan to eat your way through the festival. Note that there are no ATMs on-site, so bring cash or a credit card. Same-day re-entry is permitted with a hand stamp, so you can take a break and come back.
South County Regional Park — officially Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park — is located in western Boca Raton off Glades Road near the Florida Turnpike, making it easily accessible from across Palm Beach and northern Broward County. The festival is a rain-or-shine event; refunds are only available if requested more than seven days before the event. Tickets are available at the gate box office or in advance on Eventbrite ↗.
