Thanks to modern cosmetic procedures in the United States it is now possible to perform lip augmentation and wrinkle reduction without surgery. Each facial filler offers its own benefits and features as outlined below. A qualified Boca Raton doctor or dermatologist can determine which facial filler(s) to use for optimal rejuvenating results. Boca Raton BOTOX Cosmetic
Boca Raton Botox

Botox Cosmetic is a brand name for the botulinum neurotoxin sold for cosmetic purposes. It is a facial injectable used by cosmetic surgeons as well as other types of doctors, usually injected into the forehead and parts of the face and sometimes under the arms and feet for excessive sweating (known as hyperhidrosis). This non-surgical procedures purpose is to paralyze the small muscles that are responsible for the natural appearance of persistent facial wrinkles. Botulinum toxin has been used since the 1950s to treat illnesses arising from overactive muscles, and has just recently received FDA approval for use as a cosmetic agent. The Botox injections usually take between 10 and 20 minutes and the recovery time is immediate. The effects of BOTOX® injections will appear within 7 days, and may last up to 6 months. There are several Boca Raton Botox injection centers.

Boca Raton Restylane
Boca Raton Restylane

Restylane is the trade name for hyaluronic acid a non toxic substance that is naturally present in the body. Restylane is a facial filler that is used to gain a more youthful appearance. It is commonly used to fill facial hollows around the eyes and to smooth facial folds and wrinkles in areas around the mouth. Restylane is also used for lip augmentation. The Restylane injections usually take between 15 and 30 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia. The recovery time during the first 48 hours after treatment, you must monitor your movements. It is important and recommended not to massage or rub the treated areas and avoid puckering your lips until the swelling and redness have subsided. Do not expose the treated areas to solar radiation or extreme temperatures. The effects of Restylane injections are immediate and last approximately 6 months. There are several Boca Raton Restylane injection centers.

Boca Raton Fat Grafting
Boca Raton Boca Raton fat grafting

Fat grafting is the practice of extracting fat tissue from one part of a person's body and injecting it into another part. Fat grafts are typically extracted from the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks and used in facial fat grafting procedures. In other cases it is used in lip augmentation, buttock augmentation and cheek augmentation procedures. The face and hands naturally lose fat as people age and utilize the fat injection options to correct a perceived aesthetic deficiency. A popular fat transfer is one made to the lips, a procedure called lip enhancement. Fat graft breast enhancements can also be achieved through fat grafting. The fat grafting procedure usually takes between 2 and 4 hours and is performed under local anesthesia. The recovery time after most fat transfer procedures generally result in little downtime and normal activity after a few days (unless complications arise). Micro fat grafting do not carry allergic reaction risks because the fat injectable fillers are harvested from the patient's own body. and injection sites. There are several Boca Raton fat grafting cosmetic centers.

Boca Raton Silicone
Boca Raton silicone

Silicones are artificial compounds made from the element silicon and other chemicals. Silicone injections are FDA approved and long-lasting. Silicone oil is injected in micro-droplets in the treatment area. Over time, skin cells called fibrolasts produce new collagen, which in turn grows around the silicone particles. The injection stimulates more collagen growth thereby filling the wrinkles and impressions in the skin. Silicone is used to give lips a more plump appearance, and is also used to treat frown lines, acne scars, crow's feet, and forehead lines. Silicone injections are typically used alone or in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as laser skin resurfacing or chemical peels. Most patients experience some discomfort during the injections and slight swelling may occur. The recovery after silicone injections is immediate after treatment. There are several Boca Raton silicone injection centers.

Dysport
Boca Raton Dysport

Dysport is a treatment for facial wrinkles, fine lines, forehead wrinkles, crow's feet, frown lines and laugh lines. Like Botox, Dysport's primary ingredient is the botulinum neurotoxin, and like Botox, it works by paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles. Dysport, however, offers several improvements when compared to Botox for some patients: it yields faster and longer lasting results, patients are less likely to develop a tolerance to Dysport, which sometimes mitigates the effects of Botox. Dysport is a very new drug, which recently received FDA approval based in part on tests conducted by Boca Raton's Sanctuary Medical Aesthetic Center doctor David Goldberg.

Evolence
Boca Raton Evolence

Evolence is a cosmetic filler made from collagen. It is injected into patients' faces in order to fill in shallow spots and wrinkles that naturally develop as people age, and as an agent of lip augmentation. The injection procedure lasts between 15 minutes and an hour, and side effects of collagen injections include bruising, swelling, tenderness, and throbbing experienced near the injection areas. Allergic reactions may occur as the result of the injection of any collagen not naturally found in the human body, such as that used in Evolence. While collagen can be safely and easily synthesized or taken from other parts of the patient's own body (thereby completely eliminating the risk of complications due to allergic reactions), the makers of Evolence choose to harvest their collagen from pigs after they have been slaughtered. The other cosmetic injectables discussed on this page do not contain animal-derived ingredients.

Juvéderm
Boca Raton Juvéderm

Juvéderm is a hyaluronic acid product much like Restylane, but its makeup is somewhat different. Unlike other hyaluronic acids which have a rough texture to them, the chemicals used in Juvéderm give it the properties of a smoother gel-like material. It works by increasing skin volume, and fills in shallow spots on the face. Juvéderm reduces the appearance of wrinkles and other aesthetic affects that naturally occur as people age. Juvéderm can also be used as an agent in lip augmentation. It is completely non-toxic, and there is little risk of allergic reaction, but redness, itching, tenderness, and discoloration may occur shortly after the injection procedure. The injection takes about 15 minutes, and the affects last about six months.

Boca Raton Sculptra
Boca Raton Sculptra

Like other cosmetic fillers, Sculptra replaces the fat that naturally leaves the face as people age by increasing skin's volume, thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, forehead lines, crow's feet, and frown lines, and it can also be used for lip augmentation. Unlike other cosmetic fillers, Sculptra can last up to two years after it is injected into the face. It is non-toxic, composed of poly-L-lactic acid, and has been used for cosmetic purposes since 1999. Several injection sessions are usually necessary to achieve the desired effect, but the results appear gradually over the course of a few weeks, so there is no sudden, drastic change in your appearance.

Boca Raton Permanent Makeup
Boca Raton Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup, also known as permanent cosmetics, dermapigmentation, micropigmentation, and cosmetic tattooing, is the process of injecting pigments beneath the skin, in the same way tattoos are applied, for the purpose of permanently giving the patient the appearance that makeup has been applied to the face, or to correct a perceived deformity such as a scar, or an aureole removed during a mastectomy. Permanent makeup is used by women who want to present a made-up appearance, but do not want to invest the time and monetary cost into daily makeup application. Cosmetic tattooing is applied by cosmetic professionals, usually over several sessions. The results of the procedure are permanent, and removal of the application is impossible or extremely difficult, sometimes leaving scars or discoloration.

Boca Raton Radiesse
Boca Raton Radiesse

Radiesse is a substance consisting of calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. It acts as a facial filler, much like the products described above, by stimulating the body's own production of collagen. The product is used to fill in shallow spots on the face that naturally appear as people age. The affects of Radiesse can last more than an year.
