FAU Trustees Approve Funding For
New FAU Football Stadium
Florida Atlantic University.

BOCA RATON -- Florida Atlantic University board of trustees has unanimously approved a plan for the funding of the new FAU stadium. The state Board of Governors is expected to give the final approval in September 2010, with construction set to begin by later that month. One of the stadium's biggest proponents has been FAU coach Howard Schnellenberger, and he called Wednesday's vote, "one of the most important milestones in the history of Florida Atlantic University." FAU in Boca plans to begin playing in the 30,000-seat facility during the 2011 football season.
