Common Threads first annual fund raising event was held at the Palms Hotel in Miami Beach on November 1st. Common Threads was co-founded in Chicago by celebrity Chef Art Smith. Their mission is to teach low-income children to cook wholesome and affordable meals. Their mission is to educate children on the importance of nutrition and physical well-being, and to foster an appreciation of cultural diversity through cooking. You can learn more at their web site - CommonThreads.org.

Chef Michelle Bernstein co-hosted this event as she sat on Common Threads National Chef Board. Jeremy Salamon from JeremyCooks.com (a student from West Boca Raton Community High School in Boca Raton, FL) was on board and prepared a tasting based on one of Chef Smiths recipes. Jeremy says; “I am honored to be included among the participating chefs and is truly and amazing cause.” Common Threads has created a "check-stuffer" for local restaurant to help bring awareness to the cause.
