End Childhood Hunger

Organizers of the Gold Medal Wine Tour has announced a series of six fundraising dinners which will be held in award-winning restaurants in the tri-county area. The Tour is featuring the best wines of the 2007 American Fine Wine Competition, pairing them perfectly with delectable and innovative five course menus created by talented chefs.

The series kicked off on Wednesday, September 10, 2008 at Pardiso Ristorante, located in Lake Worth, where acclaimed Chef | Owner Angelo Romano welcomed guests to his splendid table. The dinner began at 6:30 PM with a sparkling wine reception, passed appetizers and ZYR Vodka paired with caviar. There was also a silent auction featuring excellent dinners and fine wines.

In 2007, South Florida hosted the first Juried American Fine Wine competition. A star-studded wine tasting panel of accomplished wine experts, educators, wine writers, savvy buyers, and certified sommeliers judged over 350 wines, which were then featured in a Gala dinner.

Now, South Florida gourmands and wine aficionados will have a unique opportunity to experience at least five of the 2007 Gold or Double Gold Medal Winners of that competition, which are paired with distinctive menus specially crafted to compliment these very special wines… all while supporting a vital, local anti-hunger children’s charity.

Net proceeds of the events benefit END CHILDHOOD HUNGER, an 501 (c)(3) South Florida non-profit, which supports, through grants, services, volunteer recruitment and coordination, small local, emerging, niche, and grassroots hunger organizations that are directly impacting the issue of childhood hunger in South Florida.
